Altru Health System

CNA

June - August 2022 • Grand Forks, ND

What I liked

I loved being around people, especially when they were at a not-so-great point in their life. It was a great opportunity to turn people’s days around. One of my favorite things was listening to each and every persons thoughts and concerns, it helped me be an advocate for them when others weren’t listening.

What I wish was different

I wish I didn’t have to leave my job because of distance.

Advice

Trust your gut and don’t turn a blind eye on issues; you may be the only person listening, and that could change someone’s life.

It would have been nice to see more of the business, but HR touched all areas so I got a small glimpse.

Advice

Try new jobs! Even if you don't find the place you belong right away, it's helpful to rule out certain positions.
