The Culture within AmerisourceBergen is inviting and welcoming. Everyone that I have interacted with are willing to assist you with any questions and concerns with no hesitation. The traveling aspect and training of the program allows for a lot of hands on work, and experience across numerous departments to find what fits you best.

Marketing Intern

June - August 2019 • Carrollton, TX

What I liked

I enjoyed how my team took the time to teach me new skills and help me build my resume. I got to see and participate in different aspects of marketing. I did email marketing, I created a user guide, I helped with data entry, and did web analytics

What I wish was different

There were some points when I had nothing to work on so I used my time to do online certifications. I wish they could have used me more

Advice

Connect and learn from all different types of people. You can learn a lot both related to your work and not through these relationships. I also asked everyone I worked with to write me letters of recommendations on LinkedIn.

IT Intern

June 2019 • Carrollton, TX

What I liked

I really loved the people, my manager was really supportive and exposed me to many different sides of the business and encouraged me to do projects I was truly passionate about. I was treated like a full time employee, my thoughts were heard and my suggestions were valued. I worked a lot with the Salesforce platform which is a lucrative position and if pursued can reap great rewards.

What I wish was different

Nothing. It was a really great first year internship for someone with little corporate experience.

Advice

While ABC offers many internships in different areas of the business, I believe that those that worked with IT received a more valuable internship experience.

Pricing Intern

June - August 2019 • Conshohocken, PA

What I liked

I learned a lot about the Healthcare system, specifically about how brand and generic drug pricing works. This was really interesting, especially considering that it's such a hot topic in the news right now. I was also given a lot of responsibility to work in the company's custom pricing system and to work on various data analysis projects that I presented to the department managers at the end of the summer.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more intern events to meet the interns working in other departments. I was the only intern in my department, and while I really liked my coworkers, they were often too busy to grab lunch, and I would have like to had more social events and opportunities to meet people and other interns.

Advice

Make sure to ask for more work when if you finish assignments early/ run out of assignments to do. Also take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the intricacies of the healthcare system, such as insurance reimbursements etc.
