What I liked

I loved the office environment! It was very casual, friendly, but still productive. They were very understanding when I was sick and had to miss a couple days. My editor was really respectful when she gave negative feedback. She was also good at giving positive feedback and checking in. I was working another job too and they were very understanding with that as well.

What I wish was different

I was working primarily with The Appalachian Voice team, but I wish I had taken the initiative to talk to other employees about the work that they do on their other campaigns like the Energy Democracy tour.

Advice

Be sure to ask questions if you don't know what you are doing. Be willing to take criticism. Ask to learn different skills if you have the time. Take the time to get to know people in the office.
