I like the hands-on experience and responsibilities involved. It's very rewarding, meaningful work and I found that I really enjoy behavioral neuroscience research.
What I wish was different
I wouldn't change a thing. If anything, I wish I had started years ago.

Get in early! Talk to your favorite TA's and professors about RA opportunities. Most labs are always looking for undergraduate RA's and it helps you decide what you want to do with the rest of your life.

Homeless Resource Intern
June - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
I enjoyed being able to make a positive impact on the Homeless community in LA and provide them with the proper resources to better themselves and their family. The work was tedious but I enjoyed every second because I knew it would change someone else's life for the better. Hearing the stories and seeing how they lived motivated me to find the best resources I could in a short amount of time, so they could have shelter, receive a proper dinner, or even a job that will hire them.

Advice
I searched all over to volunteer with PNI, and never heard back from cold emails . Once I used personal networks instead, I got responses from both professors and was offered space.
