Electrical/Computer Engineering Intern

June 2018 • San Antonio, TX

What I liked

I enjoyed being treated like a real employee and being provided with real engineering experience. I also found it interesting that the engineers, including myself, develop both the hardware and software for a given project. In addition, every employee I worked with was very welcoming and willing to help me when I needed it.

What I wish was different

Advice

Don't be afraid to seek help and ask questions! Sometimes it can be daunting seeming like you don't know much, but that's expected of an intern. Asking questions when you get stuck helps you grow and keeps the project from suffering.

Software Intern

September - December 2016 • Rome, NY

What I liked

Lots of freedom with work, wonderful work condition and benefits. There's encouragement to work and you're not pushed to overtime. At the time I was interning, benefits incl. vacation/sick days were included.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more opportunity to work with other members on the team. I often felt like I was very disconnected without clearance.

Advice

Bring a car.
