Clinical case manager intern

What I liked

I liked getting to know the residents and who they are as a person past their trauma.

What I wish was different

I wish I had went into the home for different shifts (morning, evening, overnight) to see how the home was at different hours of the day rather than just for the morning shift which was 8am-4pm.

Advice

One advice I would share is to be patient. Working with those with traumatic pasts is a hard job and it takes a lot for the residents to open up to you, but as long as you show them that you care, are trustworthy and want more for them in life, they will warm up to you.
