Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development

About Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development

Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development is an international non-profit organization founded in 2013 to support and advance objective scientific research bridging the medical, neuroscientific, social science, public health, education, and academic communities.

Children and Screens is committed to providing a collaborative, diverse space for students from all over the country to contribute to the mission of our organization: to advance and support interdisciplinary scientific research on the impact of digital media on child and adolescent health, development, and wellbeing; foster public awareness; promote policy that protects young people; and increase the human capital in the field.

Interns will have the opportunity to actualize our goal of helping children lead healthy lives in a digital world by assisting with our programs, including planning and executing our webinar series, organizing interdisciplinary research retreats, disseminating scientific literature, creating policy reports, editing materials for our website, and creating and implementing a plan for digital marketing and communications. This is in addition to attending weekly meetings amongst the staff and interns.

“The small nature of the institute meant that interns got to work hands on on different projects. I loved working in cross-functional teams with interns from different departments; it was a great lesson in collaboration.”
