Hewitt is a small city, approximately 14,000 citizens, surrounded by the Waco community. We staff 100 full time equivalent positions and continue to grow. Around 1/3 of the city is yet to be built out and with the addition of a large retailer we look forward to our citizens shopping and dining in the city. Retaining the sales tax in the city helps the city grow services for the citizens. We have the 2nd busiest library (new in 2016) in the county and have been voted 9th in Safety and 20th in Best Places to Live (Money magazine). The council is experienced & progressive; management is supportive of fresh ideas and continued growth.
