CURENT is a National Science Foundation and Department of Energy funded engineering research center located at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Partner schools include Northeastern University, Rensslaer Polytechnic Institute, and Tuskegee University. CURENT's research is in electrical engineering - specifically power systems and power electronics - as it relates to incorporating more renewables onto the power grid.
