About Hyundai Card/Capital

Hyundai Card/Capital combines strong brands with innovative financial services. Our unconventional and forward looking corporate culture stands out in South Korea’s traditionally conservative business environment.

Established in 2001, Hyundai Card strives to redesign what it means to be a modern finance company. Committed to developing unparalleled branding designs and challenging traditional corporate strategies, the company leads South Korea’s premium credit card market and is among the country’s top credit card issuers. Our Design Lab - an in-house, multi-discipline design studio - has earned many accolades, including being named a gold winner at the 2014 iF Design Awards and hosting an exhibition at Milan Design Week 2015.

Established in 1993 as Hyundai Auto Finance, the name changed to Hyundai Capital in 1999 and has become South Korea’s No. 1 provider of consumer financial products, including auto financing, auto leasing services, personal loans, and home mortgages. The company is a financial service unit of Hyundai Automotive Group and has continues to expand to overseas markets – including the US, Canada, China, Europe, Russia, Brazil, etc. – to provide auto financing support for Hyundai and Kia Motors.

Global Commercial Corporate Finance Intern & Strategic Planning Intern

June 2017 - August 2017 Seoul, South Korea
“LITERALLY THE BEST INTERNSHIP EVER. Hyundai in America is just a car company but they are like the Google of Korea. They do credit cards, life insurance, commercial, finance, etc. They even have Hyundai Department Stores, Super Concerts, and "Libraries" (music, cooking, travel, & design studios that are exclusive to Hyundai card holders). Best part is they pay for everything ranging from hotel to airfare to breakfast/lunch, and it sometimes feels like you're just on vacation and not actually working. Really great to put on your resume - global perspective, present in front of C-level suite, make a lot of connections, actually learn a LOT (I had to make financial models and do tons of excel but it depends on the department). They are also a multi-billion dollar company with tons of money to spend on the global interns so they take you out on tons of REALLY cool intern events (yacht day, laguna beach bungalow day, dave & buster's, pageant of the arts, cooking classes, etc.) The best part might be the friends you make though - everyone in my intern class was smart, funny, and loved to have fun. They do a really good job of making sure everyone who gets into the program is a good fit, professionally and socially. Everyone got along, and I miss them so much already!”
