Pratt Miller

Electronics Intern

May - August 2020 • New Hudson, MI

What I liked

My team was agile and flexible, and I was given an enormous amount of responsibility and freedom. I was placed directly into a team that didn't possess many of the skills that I had, so I had a lot of leeway to implement all of my new ideas. My project leader was encouraging and supportive of all of my endeavors, since they were primarily tasks new to Pratt Miller. That's the benefit of what they do - everything is super agile and innovative. There's never a bland challenge!

What I wish was different

I don't think that I would've changed a thing.

Advice

The PME environment is probably the least bureaucratic and most supportive work environment that I've ever been a part of. Everyone is open to new ideas and different ways to solve a problem. With that being said, don't be afraid to speak up! If you have an idea, tell someone about it, because even though I was a sophomore/junior in college at the time, I was able to give useful input to industry leaders and technical experts.
