Sinclair, Inc.

News Photographer

September 2019 • San Antonio, TX

What I liked

I liked how lenient the station is with who and when you can shadow. This internship has a lot of good knowledge to learn as well as knowledgeable people to teach you. You will learn new skills and be able to them in to practice, it is very interactive.

What I wish was different

The internship for me hasn't shown me anything that should be fixed. It's a pleasant experience.

Advice

Be ready to be put to the test and don't be afraid.

Everything about the job I liked. My grandpa used to work at the same station for some 30 years, and now I'm pretty much working in his shadow.

Advice

Participate in at least one internship in your intended career field in order to get a feel for what the full job entails before graduation. I had the opportunity to participate at an internship during my time at the University of Miami and it helped to show me where I could possibly be one day if I worked hard and applied myself.

What I liked

I like that I am a part of a company that strives to always be the best and get better. I enjoy the company of my co-workers too. I also like that it is in the field I studied in college.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to have been offered an on air job right out of college.

Advice

Take any job you can get out of college in the field you want to be in. It'll get your foot in the door and give you much needed contacts.
