Digital Marketing Intern

What I liked

Being able to tie work experience in with a study abroad experience. I was treated like a regular marketing employee with legitimate tasks pertaining to the companies marketing efforts and was able to take part in marketing meetings, Also my coworkers were all really great people and I really enjoyed the time spent working with them.

What I wish was different

Spent longer with the company and been able to get more market research experience (as was primarily social and digital marketing).

Advice

Use any and all connections you have, you may get an amazing work experience that is less traditional than those posted online. A lot of people over look small companies in the internship process, however they can have even more regarding experiences than larger companies.

What I liked

flexibility of work hours and where I could work, the company had an amazing culture and I really liked all the people that I worked with. I got a lot of valuable experience and developed my network that will be extremely beneficial in my future job search.

What I wish was different

I wish i got more work during the day and had slightly larger responsibilities. Once I had gotten used to the work I was doing I felt that I was not being challenged fully and had days with little to no work that I feel were wasted and could have helped me gain more experience.

Advice

Talk to people you know about their connections, your personal network is your strongest asset in the job and internship process.

What I liked

Had specific work projects and deadlines that I could complete in my own time. Experience with setting schedules and sticking to a deadline which really helped my time management skills. Was treated as an actual employee. A lot of collaboration with members working around the world. Did work that differed from prior work experiences and help build my experience profile.
