The people were all really nice and the job wasn't too difficult.
What I wish was different
I was working 3rd shift and couldn't adapt to the lifestyle that comes along with it.
Advice
If you can, get this job on 1st shift. Unless you can handle 3rd shift, then more power to you.

SPLORD
March 2017 • Dearborn Heights, MI
What I liked
I may speak for most of the college students looking for jobs — and I can testify that it’s not easy. But the journey makes us who we are. THD provided me with perspective in my life — broad and invaluable. I enjoy being faced with daunting challenges. Challenging myself to solve problems while taking others’ opinions and issues into account is something that drives me to succeed.
What I wish was different
Wish in one hand. I wouldn’t change a thing. If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t have wasted time going to school.
Advice
Even if you dislike your job, use the time to figure out what makes you tick. Making the most of a miserable situation separates the hungry from the sheep.

Sales associate
May - September 2019 • Williston, VT
What I liked
I liked the variation of pace. Some days I was scrambling on my feet making as many sales as possible, and other days I was relaxed and restocking shelves. I liked making sales, interacting with customers, and knowing that I was qualified to be a sales person at Home Depot.
What I wish was different
I wish I could still work there and go to school at the same time, but it is too much. I put my all into my job at Home Depot, so I would be spreading myself too thin.
Advice
I would advise that if you don't enjoy your time at this job, know that it doesn't have to be your career. Smile, make connections, talk to as many people as you can, and try to make yourself known as the "always happy person at Home Depot."
