TI Fluid Systems

Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Auburn Hills, MI

What I liked

I had my own engineering projects that were meaningful to the company and were challenging to me. I spent half of my day at Corporate doing engineering design and analysis for my projects and the other half of my day at the Tech Center working hands-on with my projects and learning tools, machines, and processes. One aspect that sets TI Fluid Systems apart from other companies in terms of company culture is that everyone cares about each other's projects and personal lives. At most good companies, you can ask other people questions, but at TI my co-workers approach me and other people to ask about projects because they are curious and care. That is the type of company you want to work for.

What I wish was different

I LOVE TI Fluid Systems and the few negative parts of the company aren't even worth mentioning.

Advice

Showing initiative is rewarded. Be a self-starter and people will notice. It may mean more work, but it is meaningful work. If you are responsible and put effort into a small task, then you can be trusted with more important projects.
