What I liked

I enjoyed giving back to my community by influencing the young minds of our country's future. Working with the children has been an unbelievable experience, they are not only learning from me but I am also learning from them. The teacher staff and administration were very helpful, supportive and nice. The teacher I worked under contributed to the success of my tutoring and worked very closely with me to know and understand how to help each child academically.

What I wish was different

I do not wish anything had been different.

Advice

I would suggest getting to know the teacher you work under very well and communicating with them so that the understanding of a specific child's development is understand to know how to work with them in a productive manner.

September 2017 - August 2018 • Riverside, CA

What I liked

I liked the fact that I was able to give back to my community as well as inspire kids to work hard in school. It taught me a lot about myself especially being patient and understanding for those people who take longer to comprehend information that are being given to them.

What I wish was different

What I wish had been different is the organization of the place that I was placed. I wish they where more organized and had more staff because they where highly under-staffed

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is never to give up on what you want in life and have patience because your time will come when you use your experiences and knowledge to continue to help others.
