Talent Signing Assistant – Music & A&R (Commission + Bonus)

Role Overview
The Talent Signing Assistant will support the Artist & Repertoire (A&R) and Label Relations team by identifying new talent, engaging prospective artists, and contributing to early-stage development and signing efforts. This role is well suited for individuals who want experience in A&R, talent discovery, and artist relations within an independent label environment.
This is a remote, commission-based independent contractor role with performance-based earning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and identify emerging artists across TikTok, Instagram, SoundCloud, YouTube, DSPs, and live platforms
• Conduct outreach to prospective artists and managers to introduce GBF Music Group’s development and distribution opportunities
• Assist with early-stage artist communication, onboarding steps, and information gathering
• Review music, visuals, metrics, and positioning to support internal A&R and signing decisions
• Track music industry trends, genre movements, and release strategies
• Maintain organized databases, reports, and scouting pipelines
• Support cross-team communication with A&R, marketing, distribution, and sync departments
• Assist with rollout planning and basic marketing support after artists are signed
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Strong interest in A&R, talent scouting, or music industry business development
• Knowledge of emerging music culture, digital platforms, and audience trends
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident and professional outreach ability
• Organized, proactive, and able to work independently without supervision
• Comfortable with research, tracking data, and using online tools
• Passion for artist development and global music markets
Preferred but not required: experience in artist management, playlisting, sync, PR, campus music orgs, street team work, or marketing.

Classification
