2026 Paid Summer Internship - Digital Content Intern
Over the summer, Firecracker Sports hosts amateur baseball and softball tournaments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. Our mission is to provide a multitude of opportunities and avenues for youth players to develop, grow and reach their goals.
The Digital Content Intern will aid in increasing brand awareness through digital video and photo productions, to better highlight the Firecracker Sports Company. Individuals should have an interest in sports video production or social media and a general understanding of the games of baseball and/or softball.
Interns will gain valuable experience in working with Mirrorless/DSLR Camera(s) and camcorders, learning audio and lighting techniques, using Adobe Creative Suite programs; Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, etc. and share their own creations with us of original content for our brand. Interns will also be taught on how to grow/maintain social media platforms during weekend events. Our social media platforms also connect us with our marketing plug-ins to help promote our digital content/merchandise for future use.
Submission of a cover letter and a resume to Firecracker Sports is required.
Requirements Include:
- A field of study in video production, Graphic Design and/or a general social media experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- Staying overnight in hotel accommodations for all travel events.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from events and fields
- Self starter and ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Good communication skills, a friendly professional disposition and an ability to motivate others.
2026 Tournament Schedule
- Please note, some weeks have coinciding tournament schedules. Interns will agree and are then assigned to each tournament and date prior to being hired. Interns will be required to work the aforementioned agreed upon tournaments with a minimum of 6 tournaments and a maximum of 9 tournaments on the dates outlined below. (Firecracker Sports reserves the right to amend intern schedules at any time based upon the up to date logistical and staffing needs for each tournament.)
- All interns will be required to attend training the day before the start of the Memorial Day Patriotic Bash in Providence, RI on Thursday May 21, 2026. This is the official start date of the internship. Hotel accommodations are also provided for training.
- All New England and New York interns will be required to work the Memorial Day Patriotic Bash event, held in those prospective regions. Father’s Day Classic events, held in those prospective regions along with the 4th of July Showcase Classic in Providence, RI and Southeast, MA

Responsibilities Include:
- Assist Digital Content Producer in covering Firecracker Sports events; Tournaments, Showcases, Team Scout Days, Testing Days, Social Events etc.
- Provide photography services; Action, headshot, team shots when needed
- Introduce new video products such as Personal Testimonies, staff interviews outside partnership highlights, Inside Firecracker Sports, etc.
- Work closely with the Marketing Director and digital Content Producer to capture content that aligns with and highlights the broader Firecracker Sports marketing strategies/philosophies, update on current tournaments, and provide marketing/advertising for future events
- Edit small projects for Firecracker Sports Social platforms; YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.
Pay, Benefits, Training and Future Contract/Employment Considerations:
- Compensation: 9 Tournaments $1500, 8 Tournaments $1250, 7 Tournaments $1000, 6 Tournaments $800 (50% paid on July 2nd and 50% + bonus paid on August 11th)
- Bonus/Mileage/Meal Reimbursement when staying overnight in hotel: ($25 per day) (*Paid on August 11th and only if all agreed upon tournaments are attended for the duration of that event)
- Bonus/Mileage/Meal Reimbursement when not staying overnight in hotel: ($15 per day) (*Paid on August 11th and only if all agreed upon tournaments are attended for the duration of that event)
- Arriving late, leaving early and/or missing an agreed upon day to work will result in a $100 deduction from your compensatory credit.
- Fully paid/free hotel accommodations.
- Full college credit for the semester with your college or university.
- Onboarding, Training, Mentoring and Shadowing.
- Practical and on the job training.
- Successful interns are first considered and routinely hired as paid contractors and part and full time staff for future events after successfully completing the internship program..
