FASHION DESIGNER – WOMEN’S CONTEMPORARY (NON-DENIM)
The Designer will support the design team with CAD work, technical spec development, administrative tasks, and vendor communication. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion design.
Responsibilities:
• Create detailed CAD drawings for style development and denim design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Assist Designers in preparing CAD details and assembly drawings based on sketches and other reference materials.
• Verify fit and functionality of designs through CAD drawings.
• Support project scheduling and help track design progress.
• Perform administrative duties and provide general office support to the design team.
• Revise and update artwork files as directed.
• Maintain design documentation, spreadsheets, and digital file organization.
• Manage and organize sample storage system to ensure efficient sample retrieval and inventory.
• Inspect samples, lab dips, trims, embroidery, and artwork to ensure alignment with specifications.
• Communicate detailed technical comments and fit notes to vendors using measurement and spec terminology.
• Track sample timelines and work closely with vendors to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Follow up after fittings to ensure timely import delivery and maintain approval deadlines.
Requirements:
• Experience in Fashion or Textile Design
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and fashion terminology.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Experience working with vendors and understanding import timelines a plus.
Compensation: Starting $75,000/year (based on experience)
