Camera Operator

Hello Columbia College filmmakers,

I’m seeking a Columbia College Chicago student to assist on an independent documentary shooting in the Chicago area between December 8 and mid-January (dates below)

The role includes operating a GoPro and iPhone camera setup, assisting with simple shot planning, and supporting the director on location. This is a great opportunity for students looking to build set experience, gain documentary credits, or add practical work to their reel.

Position:

Camera Operator / Production Assistant

(Editing opportunities may also be available and would be paid.)

Compensation:

    •    Small stipend

    •    On-screen film credit

    •    Paid post-production work for those with editing skills

Ideal Candidates:

    •    Film & Video, Cinematography, or Documentary majors

    •    Students comfortable with basic camera operation (smartphone/GoPro experience is sufficient)

    •    Dependable, collaborative, and able to work
