Creative Design Intern -PAID

Our internship program places a strong emphasis on design creativity as well as building a network in NYC garment district for a local sampling. During the internship, we offer the opportunity to experience a corporate culture through assisting the design team in various tasks. Our intern program trains anyone who is passionate in fashion design including juniors, and seniors to take their next steps in the fashion industry and acquire valuable skills and knowledge by learning the design process from start to finish.

Job Requirements:

-MUST HAVE FASHION A DESIGN DEGREE AND AVAILABLE TO WORK FULL 3 DAYS A WEEK 

-Should be eager and excited to work in a fast paced and creative environment

-Highly motivated, passionate and ability to be an excellent team player

-Must have strong organizational and communication skills

-MUST have a fashion design background

-Candidates should have a strong aesthetic, excellent attention to detail, superb work ethic, must enjoy working with their hands and ideally can sew.

-Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and excel

Responsibilities:

-Assist design team with daily design work as needed.

-Assist with purchasing fabrics and trims in the garment center.

-Prep for design presentations (steam garments, add trims/ hanger loops, buttons, etc.

-Organize design binders, fabric binders and color binders

-Prep for fabric meetings, organizing seasonal fabric selections by categories, pricing headers and swatches, fabric pick up’s and drop offs

-Update sketches on development line sheets

-Set up design tech packs

-Attend design fittings and assist design team with taking notes in fittings

-Assist in the prep of color palettes for the sales and design team

-Assist in sending out print development
