Theatre Camp Assistant
Indiana Repertory Theatre is seeking teaching assistants (TAs) for its 2026 Summer Theatre Camp! The IRT assistantship program offers an exciting opportunity for college students and individuals early in their careers to gain professional experience by:
- working side-by-side with extraordinary artists, administrators, and technicians.
- delivering experienced-based, hands-on learning opportunities that provide the necessary skills to become a viable candidate in a highly competitive field.
The IRT Theatre Camp experience is an immersion into the creative process of theatre. Young people with a passion for this art form learn about theatre-making from professional actors, administrators, directors, and technicians, as well as their peers. Assistants work with children ages 5-18, assist professional teachers with daily assignments as well as lead theatre warm-up games, maintain class spaces, and support administration. Prior to the start of camp interns will assist with Theatre Camp marketing, materials preparation, communication with families, and administrative support.
- Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, flexible, creative, and passionate about working with youth.
- Applicants with experience working in a classroom or camp setting are preferred.
- A theatre background is preferred, but not required.
This temporary, part-time position is only available during the summer. This is a 4-week, 40-hour per week position, that may be treated as an internship if necessary or required by a college or university. There is a $550 per week stipend, as well as a parking stipend. Applicants must be available Monday-Friday from June 1-26, 2025 from 8:00am-5:00pm. Additional orientation dates may be required. Learn more about IRT Theatre Camp at irtlive.com/theatrecamp.
