Fashion Design Intern — Fantasy & Anime Apparel

Fashion Designer

Artamiz & Hashira Studios

Location: Inperson/ Hybrid
Type: Part Time Inter
Reports to: Founder / Creative Director

About the Brands

Artamiz is a women’s fashion brand creating cozy, armor-inspired fantasy apparel for everyday life. Our audience lives in books, fantasy worlds, ren faires, and character-driven stories — and wants clothing that feels like wearable escapism. Think soft armor, knightcore silhouettes, romantic details, and pieces that feel strong and comforting.

Hashira Studios is a unisex apparel brand focused on officially licensed anime collaborations. Every design is rooted in respect for the source material, strong symbolism, and modern streetwear execution. These aren’t merch pieces — they’re narrative-driven garments fans feel proud to wear.

Both brands are community-led, visually intentional, and driven by storytelling.

The Role

We’re looking for a Fashion Designer who deeply understands niche audiences — fantasy readers, booktok creators, renfaire lovers, and anime fans — and knows how to translate those worlds into emotionally resonant, wearable designs.

This role goes beyond “designing clothes.” You’ll help shape pieces that feel seen, intentional, and immersive — whether that’s an armor-inspired hoodie or an anime collab garment that honors the lore.

What You’ll Do

  • Design apparel for Artamiz (women’s fantasy/cozy armor-inspired wear) and Hashira Studios (unisex anime streetwear)
  • Develop silhouettes, graphics, trims, and details that resonate with each brand’s audience
  • Research fantasy, booktok, renfaire, and anime communities to inform design decisions
  • Create moodboards, sketches, and design concepts aligned with brand lore and visual language
  • Translate storytelling and symbolism into garment details (cuts, textures, embroidery, prints)
  • Collaborate closely with the founder on creative direction and collection vision
  • Work with production to ensure designs are manufacturable and wearable
  • Contribute creative ideas for photoshoots, styling, and visual storytelling (especially IG-first content)
  • Help maintain consistency across drops while still pushing designs forward

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong fashion Interests(apparel, streetwear, or fantasy-inspired design)
  • Deep interest in fantasy, books, anime, or fandom culture (this is essential)
  • Ability to design with narrative and emotion, not just trends
  • Strong visual taste and reference literacy
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop (or similar tools)
  • Willing to learngarment construction and real-world production constraints

Bonus Points If You…

  • Are actively part of the fantasy, booktok, renfaire, or anime community
  • Have worked on licensed or IP-based projects
  • Understand armor aesthetics, knightcore, or fantasy symbolism
  • Can articulate why a design works for a specific audience
  • Have experience with cut-and-sew pieces, not just graphics
  • Think about how designs translate visually to Instagram, reels, and drop storytelling

What Success Looks Like

  • Fans instantly recognize themselves in the designs
  • Pieces feel immersive, intentional, and emotionally grounded
  • Apparel feels like identity and story, not just clothing
  • The community feels heard, represented, and excited
