Marketing & Content Creation Assistant

Mardi Gras World is where the magic of Mardi Gras comes to life. As one of New Orleans’ top attractions and the working float studio of Kern Studios, we welcome visitors from around the world while creating some of the most iconic parade floats in the country.

Our marketing team is looking for a creative, motivated storyteller to help capture the energy, artistry, and behind-the-scenes moments that make our brand unique.

 

Position Overview

We’re seeking a part-time Marketing & Content Creation Assistant who is passionate about photography, videography, and visual storytelling.

In this role, you’ll help document events, capture day-to-day moments around our studio, and create engaging visual content for use across social media, digital marketing campaigns, and promotional materials.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a professional portfolio while gaining real-world experience in content creation, brand storytelling, and marketing strategy.

 

What You’ll Do

Photography

  • Capture high-quality photos of events, tours, and behind-the-scenes moments
  • Photograph floats, artists, guests, and studio activity
  • Assist with editing and organizing photo assets

Videography

  • Shoot short-form and long-form video content
  • Capture day-to-day studio activity and special projects
  • Assist with filming interviews, events, and promotional content
  • Help create content for social media platforms

Content Creation

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content ideas
  • Assist with planning and executing content shoots
  • Help maintain organized media libraries
  • Support social media campaigns and storytelling initiatives

 

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Experience with photography and videography
  • Strong visual storytelling instincts
  • Basic editing skills (preferably Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Reliable and organized

Preferred

  • Photography or videography portfolio
  • Experience creating content for social media
  • Interest in marketing, storytelling, or brand strategy
  • Familiarity with DSLR/mirrorless cameras and audio basics
  • Interest in arts, events, or New Orleans culture

 

Schedule

  • Part-time with flexible hours
  • Some evening or weekend availability for events preferred
  • Approximately 20-30 hours per week
