About the Festival:
The Colorado New Play Festival (CNPF) is an annual event held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that celebrates the creation and development of new theatrical works. Founded in 1996, the festival brings together playwrights, directors and actors in a collaborative environment where new plays are developed, rehearsed and publicly read.
For more than 25 years, CNPF has supported the development of well over 100 new scripts, with a significant number going on to full productions across regional theaters and New York stages, many achieving national recognition.
The festival’s goals center on advancing the art of storytelling as an essential part of the human spirit, nurturing a diversity of voices, and providing a unique platform for playwrights to refine their work in partnership with professional theatre companies.
