We’re seeking an organized, technically minded, professional, and creative Assistant Editor Intern to help support the post-production of an international short-form documentary exploring how new cities are being built around the world to create opportunity, improve quality of life, and address some of humanity's biggest challenges.

This is an opportunity to work behind the scenes on a professional documentary production while learning the workflows used in long-form filmmaking. You'll work with the editor, producer, and art director to help organize media, prepare projects for editing, research visual assets, edit short pieces, and assist the creative team throughout post-production.

If you're interested in documentary filmmaking, editing, storytelling, or post-production, this internship offers meaningful, hands-on experience working on a film with global reach.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

• Organizing, logging, cataloging, and transcibing interview footage, b-roll, archival material, and graphics
• Creating and maintaining well-organized project files and media libraries
• Building string-outs, selects reels, and rough assemblies for the editor
• Researching and sourcing archival footage, still photography, maps, graphics, and other visual assets
• Assisting with transcripts, subtitles, and interview organization
• Creating short edits for social media, trailers, and promotional materials
• Supporting the editorial team with additional post-production tasks as needed
   

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

• Pursuing a degree in Film, Television, Video Production, Journalism, Communications, Media Arts, or a related field
• Comfortable using Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as some experience with DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, or Frame.io 
• Highly organized and comfortable managing large amounts of media
• Detail-oriented and dependable
• Curious about documentary storytelling, world affairs, architecture, urban development, or international issues
• Able to work independently while collaborating with a creative team
• Excited to learn professional post-production workflows
