About Pro 7 Sports Recruiting

Pro 7 Sports Recruiting is a grassroots college recruiting organization focused on helping student-athletes maximize their exposure, understand the recruiting process, and create opportunities to connect with college programs across the country.

We are not looking for traditional salespeople to simply sell recruiting packages.

We are building a national team of Recruiting Scouts who can identify athletes, start conversations, build relationships, and help qualified student-athletes take the first step in evaluating their college recruiting opportunities.

Our Scouts focus on finding athletes and creating opportunities. Our Enrollment Specialists handle the evaluation and enrollment process.

The Position

As a National Recruiting Scout, your primary responsibility is athlete acquisition.

You will identify high school student-athletes who have a desire to compete at the college level and connect them with Pro 7's recruiting evaluation process.

This is a relationship-driven position for someone who is comfortable talking to athletes, parents, coaches, trainers, and people within the sports community.

Your job is simple:

Find athletes → Start conversations → Generate College Prospect Reports → Schedule qualified families for recruiting evaluations.

You are not expected to close families into our recruiting program.

Qualified families are handed off to a Pro 7 Recruiting Enrollment Specialist who conducts the evaluation and handles the enrollment process.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and connect with high school student-athletes.
  • Prospect through social media, personal networks, schools, teams, clubs, trainers, coaches, camps, showcases, and local sports communities.
  • Start conversations with athletes and parents about their college goals.
  • Identify athletes who want opportunities to compete at the next level.
  • Direct prospective athletes to complete a Pro 7 College Prospect Report (CPR).
  • Follow up with athletes who have not completed their CPR.
  • Help qualified athletes and their parents schedule a College Scholarship Opportunity Evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information and activity inside the Pro 7 system.
  • Build relationships with coaches, trainers, schools, teams, and sports organizations within your market.
  • Participate in ongoing Scout development and team meetings.
  • Represent Pro 7 professionally within the sports community.

What You Are NOT Responsible For

This is important.

National Recruiting Scouts are not required to conduct sales presentations or close the Scholarship Success Program.

You will not be expected to become an expert salesperson before you can succeed in this role.

Your responsibility is to identify athletes, create conversations, generate CPRs, and create qualified evaluation opportunities.

Our Enrollment Specialists take it from there.

Who We're Looking For

We are especially interested in:

  • Current or former college athletes
  • Former high school athletes
  • Sports management students
  • Business, marketing, communications, or sales students
  • Aspiring coaches
  • Graduate assistants
  • Current or former coaches
  • Personal trainers or sports-performance professionals
  • People already connected to athletes and sports communities

Previous college recruiting experience is not required.

Professional sales experience is not required.

However, you must be comfortable starting conversations with people you don't know.

What Matters Most

We're looking for people who are:

  • Self-motivated
  • Competitive
  • Coachable
  • Comfortable communicating
  • Consistent
  • Organized
  • Professional
  • Comfortable using social media
  • Connected to or passionate about sports
  • Not afraid to prospect
  • Willing to follow up
  • Able to work independently

If you're looking for a position where someone gives you a list every morning and tells you exactly whom to call, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

If you're a grinder who enjoys sports, meeting people, networking, and creating opportunities, we want to talk to you.

Compensation

This is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity with no guaranteed hourly wage or salary.

National Recruiting Scouts earn:

20% sourcing commission

when an athlete they personally source enrolls in the Pro 7 Scholarship Success Program.

Performance Expectations

This is not a passive internship or résumé-building position.

Scouts are expected to consistently prospect and generate recruiting opportunities.

Primary performance measurements include:

  • College Prospect Reports generated
  • Evaluations scheduled
  • Athletes sourced who enroll

Scouts receive training, systems, scripts, resources, and ongoing performance coaching, but individual activity and production are required to remain active within the Scout organization.

Schedule

This position offers flexibility, but Scouts must be willing to consistently work their territory and prospect Monday through Saturday.

This can include social-media outreach, phone conversations, networking, school/team outreach, events, follow-up, and relationship development.

This opportunity can work well around school, coaching, athletics, or another position for someone who can manage their time and consistently produce.

Why This Role Is Different

You don't have to become the Scout, salesperson, closer, and athlete account manager all at once.

We've separated those responsibilities.

You find the athlete.

Our Enrollment Team evaluates and closes the family.

Our Recruiting Team works together to support enrolled athletes.

That allows our Scouts to concentrate on what they should do best:

Find athletes. Build relationships. Create opportunities.

Opportunity for Growth

Pro 7 Sports Recruiting is building a larger national Scout network and developing team members for future positions in:

Scout Leadership • Recruiting Enrollment • Athlete Recruiting • Partnerships • Sports Business

For the right person, this can become much more than a short-term sports opportunity.

If you're competitive, comfortable talking to athletes and families, passionate about sports, and willing to prospect consistently, we'd like to hear from you.
