About the Venture

We are an innovative tech-art venture offering intricate, fashion-forward, jewelry-like wearables as well as large-scale stage light sculptures. We are assembling a dynamic team of CAD innovators—both creative artists and precision engineers—to help bring our "wow-factor" product lines to life. The Opportunity

  • Role Type: Part-Time / Flexible Hours (with a transition path to Full-Time + Stock Options)
  • Location: Hybrid (Chicago-area preferred, but virtual/remote work is highly supported)
  • Who Should Apply: Current students or recent alumni with a strong portfolio in product design, fashion, jewelry, architecture, fine arts, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.

What You Will Do

Depending on your specific strengths (Aesthetics vs. Engineering), your core projects will include:

  • Creative Conceptual Design: Collaborate on designing intricate parts or complete aesthetic looks for tech-art wearables and structures.
  • Advanced Design Iteration: Utilize AI-assisted workflows, parametric design, and biomimicry principles to push creative boundaries.
  • Prototyping & Engineering: Engineer practical, structural solutions for complex parts, addressing fabrication challenges as we scale.
  • 3D Print & Fabrication Prep: Prepare, optimize, and slice CAD files for FDM, resin, and metal 3D printing processes.
  • File Translation: Smoothly translate and bridge complex mesh files into solid-oriented file formats.

What We Are Looking For

We don’t expect one person to have every single skill listed below. We encourage you to apply if you meet a combination of these criteria:

  • Strong CAD Capabilities: Proficiency in solid modeling (SOLIDWORKS, Fusion 360) and/or mesh/surface applications (Rhino, Blender, ZBrush).
  • 3D Printing Knowledge: Hands-on experience with resin, FDM, or metal output. (Having your own printer or standard campus lab access is a major plus!)
  • Creative Portfolio: A diverse showcase of projects spanning product design, mechanical engineering, architecture, or fine arts.
  • Tech-Forward Mindset: Experience or strong interest in leveraging generative AI design tools.
