Early Childhood Social Worker in Manhattan

The Social Worker is responsible for supplying necessary clinical intervention to families with young children. Provide cultural competent and sensitive services. As part of a therapeutic team within the Agency, work closely with the divisions' medical, psychiatric and psychology staff, to ensure the appropriate treatment interventions for the client.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: 
  • Providing culturally sensitive, evidence based treatment to children ages 0-8 and their families. Modalities used include but are not limited to play therapy, family therapy, group therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 
  • Conducting comprehensive psycho-social assessments and engage family in quarterly treatment planning 
  • Coordinating with other service providers involved in the family’s life such as teachers, pediatrician, foster care and/or ACS case planners. 
  • Communicating effectively with clinical treatment team 
  • Conducting risk assessment to detect potential risk factors and engage in effective risk management. 
  • Using electronic health record to complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Masters degree in Social Work, (MSW), with a minimum of one year of relevant experience with similar population. 
  • LMSW or LCSW certification required. 
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred
