Department Overview

The Service Delivery Engineer will be part of Fidessa's Service Delivery department, based in New York. The Service Delivery team is formed of an enthusiastic mix of people with strong technical, functional and customer service skills.  

As of Fall 2017, the New York office will be moving to Jersey City, NJ.  

Job Description

The role of a Service Delivery Engineer is to assist in the design, coding and testing of both client and server components of Fidessa; to implement new clients and services on Fidessa; and to aid in the maintenance of existing live clients through development of new functionality and upgrading of product versions. Fidessa is Windows and UNIX based, with the majority of the customizations either in configuration or scripting written in Tcl. The underlying technology utilizes Visual Basic, Visual C++ (Windows components) and C++, SQL, and Java (UNIX components). This demanding and varied role will offer many technical challenges as well as professional challenges, with the opportunity to learn about the global financial trading markets.  


Candidates will need to demonstrate that they are proactive, self-motivated, accurate with attention to detail, possess initiative and good problem solving skills, interface with customers and are able to work in a team, while also assuming responsibility for their work. The successful candidate will be customer-focused and comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a high degree of individual autonomy. -Superior verbal communication skills

-Superior written communication skills

-Experience with UNIX or Linux

-Knowledge of at least one programming ( C++, .NET, JAVA) or scripting language (Perl, Tcl, VB)

-Knowledge of SQL & Relational DBMS (particularly Sybase)

-Knowledge of US and/or Canadian equity and options markets is preferable

-Knowledge of FIX is preferable

-Prior software application support experience is preferable

-A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related area is required
