What I wish was different
Most of my work was building relationships with diversity organizations and coalitions, and giving them reasons to trust a primarily white organization who has not done anything for them. My supervisors from AAUW wanted more concrete scores and numbers, which was impossible considering so much of my job was creating relationships in order to make that possible. I wish my supervisors had been more transparent about what they wanted and more understanding about what was actually possible with this job.
