Marketing & Social Media Intern

May - September 2020 • Wheaton, IL

What I liked

I loved the people I worked with and the opportunity to work remotely. The projects I was tasked with were fulfilling and added value to the company. I felt like an integral part of the team from day 1. I've even been able to carry on working for ACT into the school year.

What I wish was different

I wish that I could have met members of the team in person at least once (not via Zoom). The internship was always going to be remote, but there was talk of attending events/conferences. Due to COVID-19, I was unable to travel, but that would have been my one change.

Advice

I would advise students to put their best foot forward on the first day. Internships can be intimidating but if you gain the trust of your supervisors early on, then they will continue to trust you with their business goals.
