What I liked

I enjoyed the office culture; everyone was really friendly and open. I also enjoyed the work I was doing, reading new writing and conducting research for shows in the Alley's current and upcoming seasons. It was also great to be in downtown Houston.

What I wish was different

I wish I had known more about the job going in, so that I would have been more comfortable and independent right away. It didn't take long to feel things out, but if I had known more specifics of my role I think I could've jumped right in day one.

Advice

Get to know the people you're working with as people, not just co-workers. They're probably really interesting people with cool reasons for why and how they got to be where they are. They also are probably pretty different from you, and it's great to learn about peoples' interests and personalities.
