finance intern

May - August 2022 • Oshkosh, WI

What I liked

I liked the people and the hands project work that I completed during my internship.

What I wish was different

I wish I got more experience out of it. I had tons of issues with my software when I first started so I missed out on those opportunities.

Take lots of notes during training! They will be very useful especially if you forget how to do something in a specific order.

Electrical Engineering Co-op

June 2021 • Oshkosh, WI

What I liked

Amcor provided great hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility. I also got valuable experience working in a corporate office.

What I wish was different

My electrical engineering mentor accepted a new position 3 months into my co-op which resulted in me working with many different people on a large variety of general projects. I wish I had been able to work with the same mentor the entire length of my co-op.

Advice

Amcor provides great opportunities for co-ops that are willing to apply themselves and want to learn.

Operations Intern

May - September 2020 • Mundelein, IL

What I liked

This was an opportunity to take on a leadership role to work with a dynamic group of individuals who were also passionate about their jobs. We were tasked with creating and implementing a comprehensive training program for a production position. It was a collaborative event and it showed me how important it is to work as a team as well as the importance of respecting others opinions and what they bring to the table.

What I wish was different

Advice

The internship is a learning experience and you should take the initiative to learn all that you can. You worked hard to get to this point and it's imperative to take advantage of the situation. Learn all that you can about what the company does, how the products or services are used and make an impact to set the bar for the next intern.

Project Engineer

June - December 2020 • Lancaster, WI

What I liked

Great work environment and culture. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I was able to work on projects and tasks independently at my own pace and also identify and create my own projects on things I thought could be improved. Learned a lot about project management and the manufacturing industry.

What I wish was different

I wish I would've been more able to put my mechanical engineering knowledge to use. Many of my projects were quite simple, yet still time consuming and fun. I did not have any deadlines which may have been good for me to have in order to push myself to be smarter and more efficient with my time.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions. People are always willing to help, even if its as simple as what a word/acronym means. Talk to people you don't know or haven't met. The more relationships you can create, the better your connections will be, the more you will learn, and the more fun you will have during your time as an intern.

HR Intern

August 2018 • Neenah, WI

What I liked

I am in a rotational internship in which I have experienced the corporate HR environment and the generalist environment. I have been working on projects and tasks of consequence. I have been trusted to explore new things in order to find interest in different areas.

What I wish was different

I solely wish the internship could be longer. I had a great experience in both locations (corporate in Neenah and a plant in Oshkosh) and have learned so much.

Advice

If you are looking for an experience in which you can grow and explore in a large organization environment, I would recommend it. I was working on projects and learning things I never would have imagined as an intern.
