Sales

June - August 2018 • Simpsonville, KY

What I liked

Relaxed environment where I could be myself to a better degree than most other places.

What I wish was different

The music. I'm convinced they selected a random white girl at Starbucks sipping pumpkin spice latte while blogging about it on her apple laptop and sending pictures of it on her Instagram, and asked her what she liked to listen to. Yes, it was that kind of music and I wanted to hijack the radio so many times.

Advice

easy summer job if you cannot find anything in your field of study. Hours are flexible and in my store the managers were very chill and understanding if things came up. So long as you do your due diligence and inform them asap and find someone to pickup your shift, you'll be golden!

Apparel Salesperson

June - August 2018 • Bloomington, MN

What I liked

I loved my coworkers and connecting with customers! Working at the Mall of America seemed intimidating at first but you get used to it really quickly. Plus if you forget your lunch or really need a coffee, there's a zillion restaurants only 3 minutes away.

What I wish was different

Because it's the highest volume location for AE, there was a lot of pressure to sell, and that's just not my personality; however it didn't prevent me from selling, i just had to approach it in a different way.

Advice

Come to work well rested, leave your troubles at home, and if you have an issue just talk to a supervisor; they're really understanding.
