Sales Associate

December 2017 • Austin, TX

What I liked

This job, unlike other jobs I have had, has really forced me out of my comfort zone when having to get to know other people and has allowed me to develop my skill in attention to detail. I like that I have been able to apply this job and skills that I have learned from this job to other experiences and I think it's super important to find a job like this that pushes you out of your comfort zone but in a way that you can keep positively developing yourself.

Aerie Sales Associate

July - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The opportunity to gain hands-on customer service and retail experience as an entry-level retail applicant. The connections and skills accumulated here are fundamental aspects I will carry with me throughout my lifetime. It was really great to meet so many new people, customers and coworkers alike.

What I wish was different

Getting the opportunity to work there for a longer period of time, as I am a seasonal worker due to attending school out of the city.

Advice

The hours are long, since it is retail, so prepare yourself for that even if you work part time. If you're not a minor, you're usually going to have closing shifts or even the occasional overnight shift, depending on where you're working. As a whole, the company is great and really does take care of their employees (via great discounts).
