American Junior Golf Association

Operations traveling intern

May - August 2021 • Braselton, GA

What I liked

The opportunity to travel to different places.

What I wish was different

The length of the internship was very long and did not leave much room for transition from the end of the semester to the start and end of the internship to the start of this semester.

Advice

You will get out of it what you put into it.

Operations Intern

June - August 2020 • Braselton, GA

What I liked

The culture and people are absolutely incredible (both in the AJGA and among the juniors and their families). The opportunity to gain real experience in the sports industry and to travel the country are bonuses.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was an incredible summer.

Advice

Make as many relationships as you can and take advantage of your assigned internship coach. There are so many incredible people working for AJGA and attending their events. Get to know as many of them as you can. And your coach is meant to be a resource. They've been through the same things you're going through and they're older and more experience. Take full advantage of their support and wisdom.

Communications Intern

May - August 2019 • Braselton, GA

What I liked

I loved the company. It was a great company to work for that took very good care of its employees and interns. I also liked that it wasn't an office job. I traveled the country all summer working on different golf courses in 12 different states.

Advice

You get out what you put in. The more effort you put into learning and building relationships the better employee you'll be and the better time you'll have.

Traveling Operations Intern

May - September 2018 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

This internship pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to expand work skills I didn't even know I had. I got the chance to travel to a new city every 6 or 7 days along the Southeast and Northeast Regions to run the operations of junior national golf tournaments. The AJGA is an incredible company that prides itself on supporting and developing each one of their employees. I had the chance to work along side 8 other college students my age from all across the country.

What I wish was different

Nothing, it was an incredible experience.

Advice

To be successful takes hard work and dedication day in and day out; make sure you find a job you are passionate about that can push you on when challenges arise.
