The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Last year Red Cross volunteers & staff installed 25,5500 smoke alarms, responded to 2,300 emergencies and disasters, provided 1500 services to military members, veterans, and their families, trained more than 20,000 people in emergency preparedness, enrolled 95,400 people in CPR/First Aid & collected 340,000 life-saving blood & platelet donations.
