Amplifon & Miracle-Ear

Talent Acquisition Intern

June - August 2021 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

As an intern at Amplifon, I enjoyed always being treated as a valuable member of the team. I was always invited to ask any questions and share my perspective. I also enjoyed that this internship included both individual and group work. There were many opportunities and events dedicated to growing your personal network and networking with other interns. Overall, I love that Amplifon prioritizes a sense of community and I feel I've grown both professionally and personally from my time working there.

Amplifon Hearing Health Care Marketing Intern

June - December 2019 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I loved that everyone was so welcoming and open to teaching me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but my team made me feel super comfortable and made themselves available to teach me. I quickly learned that all I had to do was ask and my superiors were very excited to explain. I learned so much over my time as an intern and enjoyed my time at Amplifon as an intern that I accepted a salaried position starting in January of 2020. Both the HR team and my team made a huge effort to make my internship a great experience, and I learned so much and truly felt like I was part of the team.

What I wish was different

I loved learning about marketing and the different types of marketing, but I wish I had more of an opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of the business. It would've been great to have a project that was across multiple different teams within the organization to further understand how the business works and how all the teams work together toward a singular goal.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions! There are so many things within the business that you can get exposure to, you just have to ask your manager. Others don't know how much you knowledge you have on any given subject, so ask questions if you don't know what something is or if you want to learn more.

Internal Communications Intern

June 2021 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I was instantly introduced to business leaders from different corporate departments and felt very welcomed upon arrival. That building of connections is very valuable to me and I appreciated it a lot. I got to work very closely with my manager on projects that directly affected the business.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have come into the office more often and met more people from the company face to face!

Advice

Take advantage of the learning opportunity! On top of the great connections you will make, also make sure to take advantage of all you will learn with exposure to the corporate workplace. Don't be afraid to make mistakes as long as you make sure to learn something from them.

Human Resources Intern

June 2019 - March 2020 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

What I really enjoyed Amplifon was the company culture- everyone was so nice and the Human Resources team that I worked with was very inviting and open to mentoring me in the different areas surrounding HR. They also had a very structured internship program, where I was able to rotate through different HR functions and work with that team, completing projects related to their areas. This helped me decide what area of HR I would like to begin my career in and allowed me to build relationships with the whole team. Amplifon also had lots of fun activities scheduled for us such as a segway tour, scavenger hunt, Miracle Ear clinic visit, and monthly intern lunches. Overall, the internship was very structured, but very fun! I built great relationships at Amplifon and I am proud to say I am now permanently employed with the company as a Talent Acquisition Specialist.

What I wish was different

It would have been fun to have a shared project with the rest of the interns that year. Although, we were given many experiences to get to know each other, it would have been fun to use our different functions (HR, Marketing, Legal), to solve a real business issue.

Advice

I would say my one piece of advice to anyone interning with the company or trying to get an internship with Amplifon is that building connections is important! Make sure you build relationships with others in the organization, they will be more likely to remember you when they have an open spot on their team! Also, there are so many other opportunities where you can begin your career your Amplifon than simply an internship. They have various Miracle Ear clinics around the US, where we employ front and back office staff. A career in the hearing industry is very fulfilling, talk to a Recruiter and see what opportunities are out there!
