Angi

Inside Sales Representative

February 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I work remotely for Angi which I absolutely love. Regarding the culture, I love that we work in teams that meet twice a day. This has helped to build camaraderie, accountability, and teamwork. I also chose this sales role because the company does not expect employees to prospect their own leads.

What I wish was different

I wish training and investment from higher ups were a little more personal. While I enjoy the work I do and know that I add value to the company, the company and its culture do not seem to individually appreciate their employees.

Advice

Telemarketing sales can be a very challenging role. While it is not a career for everyone, I believe this type of role provides so much opportunity for learning and growth-- I highly recommend giving it a try for at least 3 months! As for the company, I really wish they would appreciate employees on a more personal level (e.g. learning and delivering or providing a favorite snack/meal/item).

Inside Sales Representative

What I liked

The recruitment team put together a very informative presentation and talked about company culture. There was an extensive Q&A session about their experience with Angi and what to expect as a new employee.

What I wish was different

While both of the recruiters were well informed I think everyone would have benefited from hearing from someone in the inside sales position about their experience working with Angi.

Advice

Go in with an open mind and ask questions.

Inside Sales Representative

September - October 2021 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. This is the only job in my life that I quit... twice... after just three weeks.

What I wish was different

Creating a 'turn-and-burn' operation and seek out college students to do this job meant for high school dropouts is wrong. This company should not be seeking out college students and graduates to fill an entry-level role like this. We did not go to college, fork out tens of thousands of dollars, just to make a below average paycheck in an entry-level job. Find other people for this.

Advice

This employer's "Inside Sales" is not an actual inside sales job. This is a telemarketing position where you call over 150 times per day, read from a script, and try to get a person's credit card. If you are seeking a sales job, or even an opportunity to learn real sales, this is NOT the job for you. Find another employer that will teach you real sales, pay you appropriately, and respect the fact that you have a college education from a top-tier school.
