Ansell

Marketing intern

June 2018 • Iselin, NJ

What I liked

Environment and people were great. Can easily learn a lot from the team you work with.

What I wish was different

Tried to network a bit more. I did pretty good at getting to know people and it really helped me stay at Ansell for longer than originally planned. However knowing more people’s jobs and having a better understanding could help me now.

Advice

Work hard and don’t let any project seem to small. I worked on projects I didn’t think made a difference but they do and you will be seen. So give each project 110%. And learn about people’s paths and figure out what you like and don’t like. This is your chance to make mistakes and grow as a person which will help you in the future.

Public Relations and Social Media Intern

June - August 2019 • Woodbridge Township, NJ

What I liked

I received projects every week and learned a lot about corporate public relations. This was a very hands on internship. I also went to "lunch and learns" each week to hear from executives in the company, including the CEO!

What I wish was different

I wish there was another public relations intern that I could collaborate with.

Advice

It truly is a taste of a 9-5 corporate job! Be prepared to work full time and put your best work forward. A lot of job offers came out of the internship positions if you were a rising senior.

Marketing Intern

June 2018 • Iselin, NJ

What I liked

The environment and people that work in the office. Everyone is very open and willing to help. And there were a lot of fun and exciting events during the summer that allowed us to learn besides work.

What I wish was different

I wish it was easier to community with other employees outside of the office. It can be difficult to reach certain people since many travel or have busy schedules.

Advice

Be willing to listen and take advantage of the opportunity. It can seem like a short period of time and you may focus so much on being good at your job but not building on relationships with people.
