I enjoyed getting hands on experience with the manufacturing side of mechanical engineering. Getting a grasp on how engineers affect the world directly is fun to see. This was able to show me the impact I can hopefully have on the world someday.
What I wish was different
It would have been nice to possibly be involved in more company meetings. Although some may be confidential, it gives the interns a good idea of what the company worries about and moves forward with. As well as seeing the decisions that are being made that affect the employees.
Advice
My piece of advice is to be creative. Doing this shows that you are interested in your line of work and want to be more than somebody who likes to be told what to do all of the time.
