What I liked

I loved being able to use my experience in the marketing field and putting my knowledge to good use. CASANA provides resources to families with children who have Childhood Apraxia of Speech. It was so humbling to be able to provide assistance to such a great organization and connect with those families.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have made better connections with those outside of the marketing department. Everyone in the office has great knowledge and wisdom and I wish I would have taken advantage of the opportunity to learn from them.

Advice

My advice is to take chances on internship opportunities. It is fantastic to get out of your comfort zone and learn from these experiences, but also do not be afraid to intern at a place that is not as well known as others. You may find a hidden gem by branching outside of the top five internship locations in your area, and these organizations will value you and your work even more.
