AquaTech Pool Management

pool attendant

May - August 2022 • Garner, NC

What I liked

It was good pay with a relatively easy job, you monitor the pool, cleaned the pool and pool deck, rearranged furniture, cleaned the bathrooms, monitored the chemical levels, and adjusted chemicals. You got to enjoy the weather and completing task wasn't hard or overly time consuming. Its a great summer job to gain money while doing work that is easy and manageable.

What I wish was different

They hired a lot of people so you would only work once or twice a week if you were lucky, they also changed the hours so it went from five hour shifts to 7 hour shifts (it wasn't bad just made the chance of you getting scheduled less). I wish I could've got more hours.

Advice

There's a good chance that a lot of the other hires will not do their job, this doesn't go for every location but this did happen at mine, so be prepared to come in to the pool and have the chemicals be at zero but the person before you said they were normal, or have the bathrooms be a complete mess, etc. This happened often so it never seems that it was addressed. If you don't mind picking up slack then this job isn't bad at all.

What I liked

I liked training my staff and the increased responsibility of being a manager.

Advice

AquaTech doesn't seem to value their employees very highly. This was my fourth year working with them, and I was a manager, but they were not flexible with pay or benefits at all.
