The mission of the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment (E&E) is to provide effective and efficient energy and environmental solutions informed by science. The Department promotes responsible management of resources and protects the environment for the benefit of all Arkansans. The Department of Energy and Environment is headquartered in North Little Rock and has offices across the state.
As the largest entity of E&E, the Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulates activities that affect the state’s air, water, and land. DEQ’s Energy Office promotes energy efficiency, clean technology, and economic security for the citizens of Arkansas. The Geological Survey collects and disperses geological information for use in mapping and in management of natural resources and geological hazards. The Oil and Gas Commission and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board oversee the safe and efficient management of energy resources in Arkansas.
