Artists Archives of the Western Reserve

Marketing and Web Development Intern

June - August 2021 • Cleveland, OH

What I liked

I loved working with artists and within the art community. The environment and work assigned to me gave me the freedom to be creative, learn new skills, and refine ones I already had. I also really liked that it was a small non-profit, so the experience was much more personalized, and I felt I had the chance to learn more than I would have in a big corporation setting.

What I wish was different

I wish there would have been more time for me to get projects done. I worked with AAWR through Studio Institute, so I wish there was less focus on completing reports and presentations for Studio Institute during the internship, so we could focus on our tasks at our jobs.

Advice

Apply for jobs even if you don't think you'll get them, and be confident in your abilities. You'll learn a lot more if you put yourself out there.
