About ArtTable Northern California

About ArtTable:

ArtTable members are professional women who exemplify leadership in the management, business, administration, promotion, interpretation, scholarship, and stewardship of the visual arts.

Founded in 1980, ArtTable is a national non-profit organization with a mutual support network of over 1,200 women, established and emerging leaders in the visual arts. Members expand their circle of colleagues, gain special access to art world events, and grow through professional development and mentorship opportunities.

ArtTable’s Diversity Fellowship Program offers graduate students notable summer projects and one-on-one mentoring at host museums and institutions.

Leading museum directors, including Thelma Golden, Melissa Chiu, Holly Block, and Anne Pasternak are ArtTable members who credit the organization with their development into leadership roles.

ARTTABLE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA is run by volunteers plus a paid part time Administrator. It has over 100 members in fine arts leadership roles. Our chapter covers San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay/San Jose. We organize frequent programs for members and the public and offering peer mentoring and support for emerging leaders in the visual arts.

ArtTable’s national award for Distinguished Service to the Visual Arts recognizes innovative women leaders across the country. We also actively identify and encourage emerging leaders in the field and recognize their accomplishments with an annual New Leadership Award.
