Teacher’s Assistant

June 2015 • Arvada, CO

What I liked

I loved having personal connections with the students and getting advice from the teachers.

What I wish was different

Some of the teachers were not my favourite— but most are amazing!!

Advice

You don’t get paid much and you don’t get very many hours, but if you want to go into arts education, this will look great on your resume!! Just have fun with it and get as involved as you can!!

Teacher's Assistant

June - August 2019 • Arvada, CO

What I liked

I loved getting to see kids' enthusiasm for making different art projects or participating in different musicals.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to choose the camps I helped with so I could partake in art topics that really interested me.

Advice

I would say that keeping all of the kids' best interest in mind is really what makes this job work. If you notice someone isn't making any friends, see how you can initiate a friendship there, if you see kids doing something unsafe, step in right away so they know they can't get away with that.
