AstraZeneca

Biopharmaceutical development intern

June - August 2022 • Gaithersburg, MD

What I liked

I liked how organized and flexible my internship was. I came in each day knowing what I needed to do and what was expected of me. Compared to my other internships this one was the least stressful. I also liked how I gained a lot of new technical and soft skills that will be useful for me in the future. Note that my internship was great because I had a great manager that made sure my experience would be beneficial.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have tried to participate in more projects and spoke to the other interns more just to hear about their experience and make connections.

Advice

Make many connections. Ask others about their likes and dislikes about the company and for general career advice. I had several conversations about my career during my internship and it changed my thoughts on how I want to obtain a higher degree and on what I want to do in the future.
