The model organism we used for research was Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrels. I learned so much from this experience. The PI helped educate us on experimental design practices, ecology information, and evaluating scientific literature.
What I wish was different
Everything was wonderful. We did camp outside a lot but that comes with the territory of field research.
Advice
Go in with an open mind and willing to work and put forth the effort. A bad attitude could've turned this amazing experience into a burned opportunity.
